Congratulations to our own Christine Gagner for capturing her second Endicott Cup. This is an event played among Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This year the championship was held at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, CT. The tournament consists of 2 days of stroke play, and concludes with a Tri-state Match. The WGAM would like to extend an enthusiastic congratulations to the women who represented our state in the Inter-State Matches at Tumble Brook CC in Bloomfield, CT on Friday, September 30th. A heartfelt thank you to those who made the trip for your commitment to carrying on the tradition of the Endicott Cup & Matches. This competition is a three-way match against Connecticut and Rhode Island. Team Massachusetts won the Tri-State Cup for the third year in a row which is for Gross Singles Matches. They collected 149 points which was 22 points over 2nd place Connecticut and 47 points over Rhode Island. The WGAM was well represented by the Endicott Cup Champion Christine Gagner, as well as Sally Degan (team captain), Maureen Haynes, MJ O’Neill, Mary Gale, Barb Hecimovich and Danielle Lee. The Connecticut team captured the Net Eaton Cup Matches with 145 points over our Massachusetts’ 110.5 points. Our team players were Lucy Pupo, Daria Insalaco, Joanne Catlin, Val Casella, Inga Devinis and Eevelyn Metsisto. All of us at the WGAM congratulate you for your strong performance down in Connecticut!
