Katie Nelson, 18, of Auburn is the 2011 Amateur Champion. She won on the 18th hole after being 4 down! Mimi Johnson defeated Hillary McNeill to capture the Presidents' Cup. More details to come...

August 8th & 9th at South Shore Country Club. Leaders: Championship Flight - Megan Khang. Silver Flight - Heeamin Lee.

Junior-Junior and Mite Championship
August 8th & 9th held at South Shore Country Club. Congratulations to 2011 Champion Megan Khang of Rockland who shot 73-77 to beat out last year's champion Isabel Southard by two strokes. Also congratulations to other champions: Silver Flight champion Heamin Lee, Jr/Jr Champ- Erin Bugbee and Mite Champion Gabrielle Shieh.

US Girls' Junior Championship
July 18-23 held at Olympia Fields, ILL. Congratulations to Megan Khang and Isabel Southard who made it to the second round of match play. The WGAM is very proud of you!

Held at Bellevue Golf Club, June 27-28. Congratulations Megan! Megan tied for first place. She lost to Ellie Dutch on the third hole. Good playing Megan!

Junior Inter-City Matches
June 28-29 held at Country Club of Pittsfield. Congratulations New York! NY – 17 points; MA and PA tied with 14 points.

2011 Junior Season Opener
Congratulations Megan, Jackie and Julia! Junior-Junior winner – Megan Khang, Rockland. Mite winner – Jackie Gonzalez, Walpole. Julia Derendel had a Hole-In-One on the 5th hole at MGA Links – 93 yards over water. Great playing everyone. The girls played in the rain and were real troopers.

2011 MIAA High School Championship
Congratulations Karolyne! MIAA 2011 champion is Karolyne Shieh, Concord Carlisle with a score of 74.

Megan Khang's Busy & Successful May
Fourteen year old Megan Khang of Rockland was very busy during the month of May. She won the 13-14 year old division at the Scott Robinson Memorial Tournament in Roanoke Virginia which was held on May 20-21st. She shot 73, 73, & 69 to finish just two over and win by a shot. On May 15-16 Megan Khang won the Spinal Technology Junior Classic which was held at Old Marsh CC in Wells, Maine by two shots. Megan who teamed with Diane Nessralla to win the WGAM’s 2010 LaBonte Tournament was a successful qualifier for the Callaway Junior World Golf Tour. This event was held at Rehoboth CC. She shot a 80 to finish one shot behind Newton’s Vin-Hoa Ngo.

Congratulations Alison! Alison won Western Mass MIAA sectional Girls championship with a 78 on a cold and windy day over Katie Coons. Alison also signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Division II powerhouse Pfeiffer University in Meisenheimer,NC. Pfeiffer finished the fall ranked number 8 in Division II.
